TRCC vs. Lower Earley - 12th September 2010

The last warm day of the year? Time will tell ...

Twyford played host to Lower Earley. The visitors batted first, and although runs came initially, they were soon reeling at 34-4 in only the 10th over, and then 42-6 in the 14th. The home side smelt blood! Two more wickets fell and Loweer Early were on 82-8 - Surely nothing could same them now! But, step forward G Hunt, who keeping his head and assisted by batting partners who did not get themselves out pushed the score on to a creditable total of 148 by the end of the innings.

And Twyford were to rue letting the tail wag so vigorously. Another poor batting display, admittedly in the face of a pretty good bowling attack from the visitors. Again, as has been the case on many times this year, just one batsman reaching double figures. The last Twyford batsman was dismissed (for a golden duck!) with still 3 overs left to play.

Disappointment then for Twyford - Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. Just wait 'til next year!
