TRCC vs. Berks County Sports - 15th July 2001

Having chosen to bat first Twyford made a challenging total but perhaps just 10 or 20 less than hoped for as only 5 wickets were lost. There was some tight bowling from league regulars and the score was only 57 at the half way stage. A partnership of 110 for the 2nd wicket from Wren and Downes laid a solid foundation with Wren going on to finish unbeaten on 86.

At 115 for 3 BCS were comfortably toward their target but Brandon Theron coming on second change took 5 for 38, his first 5 wicket haul for the club, and ripped the heart out of the opposition reply as they subsided to 157 for 8. Twyford seemed to have the upper hand with 25 still needed from the last 5 overs and only 2 wickets to get. However B S Norman remained unbeaten on 43 and just managed to steer his side to the target with 4 balls to spare.
